My goal is to provide knowledgeable, professional, yet highly personal real estate services while maintaining the highest ethical standards and values.
Tuscaloosa has always been my home. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Ken, and we have two wonderful children, Russell, and Caroline (A.J.) and a new granddaughter, Olivia.
Family is important to me. Most of my activities outside my career involve my family, whether it's cheering for the Tide, grilling burgers in the back yard, or just watching the latest movie. I am so blessed to have a wonderful family and career that I love.

Travel (especially beach trips)
When the Smiths, a family of four, originally from Utah decided to make the move to Alabama, their local realtor began to look for a local agent to help them. Kiah Smith, the Father of the bunch accepted a job in the area as a draftsmen, they took on the challenge of a cross-country move.
They were referred to me by an agent in Utah. After a few conversations and emailing back and forth they decided on a new home in Northport. With my help they bought it sight unseen. We took care of all required documentation by email and electronic signatures.
By the time I eventually met them on the closing day, I felt like I had known them for a long time. Throughout the construction process I would go out to the home and make photos and videos and send to them updating them on the progress.
Because they do not have friends or family here, I was diligent (unrelenting) staying in contact with the other agent and builder to insure the property closed on time. Otherwise the Smith’s would have had to find a hotel for their family. After two days on the road traveling with a moving van and 4 kids, that was just not an option.
“I can say that moving from out of state and working with Phyllis was nice because we felt she was taking care of us on this end in Northport, AL. We had a lot to deal with on both ends and she lightened our load and watched out for our best interest,” Kiah Smith said.
As a Realtor, I get the chance to work with some pretty amazing people, and help out in both big and small moments of their journeys. Today I want to introduce two wonderful couples that recently came to me in search of a new place to call home.
James and Margaret Owens
The Owens were referred by my daughter who attends church with them at Church of the Highlands. The Owens had a young daughter and were expecting their second baby. I helped sell their home in the Fosters area, which they had bought that house originally to be close to James’ work. James changed jobs, eliminating the need to stay close in Fosters. Margaret also wanted to be in a neighborhood near other moms, giving them another reason to move. Her wants included a neighborhood with sidewalks so she could stroll the baby. As a stay-at-home Mother she felt a little isolated in the Fosters area. We got their home sold, and found them a perfect house in the North Hampton neighborhood. Sidewalks, Verner school zone, friendly neighbors and a family atmosphere. North Hampton is also so convenient to grocery stores and shopping. They are extremely happy!
Rev. Mark and Susan Lacey
Susan lived in Birmingham, and she and Mark were planning their wedding. He’s the pastor at St. Mark United Methodist Church. Mark had always lived in a parsonage (church owned home) and very much wanted to own his own. Of course Susan did too. We weren’t able to find the perfect house for them, but instead we found the perfect lot for building their own, brand new home. I helped them buy a large lot in the Townes, and introduced them to Chad Gore, a local builder. Construction will begin soon. I loved that they invited me to a “blessing of their home” before construction even began. Everyone involved in the process including: Chad and his plumbers, the flooring company, painters, brick mason, etc. were invited and met at the construction site one afternoon. Mark asked everyone to introduce themselves. We held hands and Mark prayed the sweetest blessing on his and Susan’s home. I loved it!
Each client isn’t simply a business transaction, but a home, a story, and a dream that I work tirelessly to fulfill. If you’re looking to buy or sell, I hope you consider letting me be a part of that story.
Phyllis was very professional and attentive to all my questions. We had an offer in just eight days after listing! There were some challenges on the path to closing but Phyllis navigated through them like a true professional and I can’t thank her enough.
